Captain fighting a fish offshore in heavy weather

The Captain Justin & Halo Power Catamarans Story

AT HEART, I'M STILL
JUST A FISHERMAN.

Some of my earliest memories are on the waters of Tampa Bay. Everything else grew from that.

01The Water, and the Hands

Long before there was a company called Halo Power Catamarans, before I earned my United States Coast Guard Master's Captain's License, I was simply a kid who loved to fish on Tampa Bay. I still am. I don't remember every fish I've caught, but I remember the feeling — the anticipation, the challenge, and the moment everything comes together. That feeling never goes away. It's why fishermen wake before sunrise and always look forward to the next trip.

The ocean has a way of soothing your soul. It can also be terrifying. Conditions change in minutes, reminding us that no amount of experience makes us bigger than the sea. It demands preparation, respect, and sound judgment — yet every challenge overcome becomes another lesson. Out there, you can feel empowered and humbled at exactly the same time. The ocean never gives you the same day twice.

Before my career on the water, I spent years building things with my hands — welding, fabrication, solving problems. Those years taught me that simple doesn't mean ordinary: often the simplest solution is the strongest one. Thoughtful design isn't about adding more; it's about understanding what truly matters and eliminating what doesn't. Thousands of hours as a captain later, I know boats are judged very differently fifty miles offshore than at the dock. When the weather changes, what matters is confidence — in your boat, in the people who built it, and in every decision made during the design process. Small details become meaningful when they're repeated throughout an entire boat.

02Why Halo Power Catamarans Exists

Several years ago, during a fishing tournament in South Africa, I met Francois, founder of ST Boat Builders. We grew up on opposite sides of the world, but we shared the same values — a passion for the ocean, a respect for craftsmanship, and a belief that learning never stops. What began as conversations about boats became a close friendship built on mutual respect. Neither of us believes we've built the perfect boat. We simply believe the next one can always be better. That friendship became one of the foundations of Halo Power Catamarans.

Halo Power Catamarans wasn't created because we wanted to sell boats. It was created because we believe more people deserve access to thoughtfully designed boats that let them spend more time enjoying the water and less time maintaining unnecessary complexity. I bring decades of real-world experience to our manufacturing partners, and every suggestion comes back to one simple question: does this make life better for the owner? Safer, more reliable, more intuitive, more enjoyable — if the answer is yes, it's worth pursuing. We're not searching for the biggest names; we're searching for the right people, because a well-designed boat becomes far more than fiberglass and engines. It becomes the platform where families create memories, children catch their first fish, and adventures begin.

I don't believe anyone ever learns everything. Every year brings new technology, new friendships, and new lessons from the sea — and Halo Power Catamarans will keep evolving because I will. This story isn't finished. It's still being written — one voyage, one friendship, one lesson, and one boat at a time.

AT HEART, I'M STILL JUST A FISHERMAN.
EVERYTHING ELSE GREW FROM THAT.

Engineered for Performance. Designed to Tame the Ocean.

The Halo Power Catamarans Philosophy

Confidence
Offshore.

Every Halo Power Catamaran is designed by offshore fishermen, for offshore fishermen, because confidence offshore is earned through experience — not marketing.

The ocean is beautiful, but unforgiving. It rewards preparation, thoughtful design, reliability, and experience. We don't define ourselves by other boat manufacturers. We build and deliver boats for offshore fishermen who understand the demands of the offshore environment.

Every design decision has a purpose. Every purpose is measured by one question: Does it inspire confidence offshore?

We believe performance should be demonstrated, not assumed. Through thoughtful engineering, real-world testing, and honest data, we earn the trust of those who venture offshore.

Build exceptional offshore fishing boats. Earn trust. Inspire confidence.
